Drayton Manor Review 2017
Last Thursday we were invited along to Drayton Manor Theme Park, And what a brilliant day we had!
The park opened at 10.00am, And the rides started at 10:30am. The park closed at 6pm but always check https://www.draytonmanor.co.uk/opening-times before ordering tickets.
At the moment they have an offer on where you can get 4 tickets for just £80 when booking in advance, Again always check their website as new offers come and go.
Now, we’re only ever been to Drayton Manor once in the past back in 2009. Our eldest was only one at the time, So we really wanted re-visit the park and see what’s changed over the past 8 years. Plus we’re a family of 5 now, Ages 28,26,8,5 and 4
Of course, Drayton Manor is well known for its famous Thomas World
The Fat Controller available regularly throughout the day for free photos.
And we spent two thirds of the day at Thomas World. Since we last visited a few friends told us that the Thomas Land had undergone an expansion with new rides. But when we visited the park we were surprised how much bigger Thomas world was.
Most rides new and old are suitable from 90cm in height, with some rightly so requiring an adult to accompany children under 120cm. The best part is there’s a special height chart at the entrance to each ride, so you don’t need to waste time queueing for a ride only to find out at the last minute that they’re too small.

Even though it was the School Summer Holidays we were really impressed with the waiting times. Sometimes it can put a real downer on theme parks but we were only waiting around 10 minutes per ride. We timed a few just so we could let you know! Overall we when on around 10 rides throughout the day there but timed 3.
The Cranky’s Tower Drop was opened back in 2008 and has a ride Capacity of 12 per turn. We waited only 7 minutes 42 seconds from back to of the queue to the closed gate.
Next up was Harold’s Helicopter Tours, Also opened back in 2008 it has a maximum ride Capacity of 32, We waited only 6 minutes 22 seconds from back to of the queue to the closed gate
Next, let’s talk about something newer and that’s Flynn’s Fire Rescue,
Opened only recently in 2015 this was one of our favorites because the weather was lovely and hot and this was a water-spray ride! It only has a small capacity of 12 and was one of the most popular rides at Thomas world for that reason it took a little longer. We waited only 13 minutes 37 seconds from back to of the queue to the closed gate, So still under 15 minutes for one of the most popular rides!
Thomas World has so many rides and things to do, over 25 rides and attractions to be exact,
You could spend the whole day just there if you wanted to go on them all, There is also Emily’s indoor soft play but we were so busy going on the outdoor rides we didn’t make it inside to try that.
Over to Drayon Manor it’s self. It has plenty of thrill rides. https://www.draytonmanor.co.uk/rides-and-attractions/rides
We would have loved to try more but sadly I’m not a thrill ride lover and mummy is pregnant so unable to go on any, Chloe our oldest wasn’t happy with us as she was loving the look of Chairlift, The Flying Dutchman and the rest,
We tried out the Carousel’s and The Bounty Pirate Ship but when we revisit hopefully next year we plan to explore them more.
What sometimes might get missed about Drayton Manor is theri Zoo. Called of course Drayton Manor Zoo
Opens and closes the same time as the park 9:30am to 6pm every day and has plenty to show off,
Drayton Manor Zoo is a fascinating place to explore with 15 acres of open plan zoo home to over 100 animals from all over the world including endangered species
We found this better then some Zoo’s we’ve been tooo!, What we loved after so much walking was…..
Well, we wasn’t going to tell you but… We will! You can walk all the way to the end of the Zoo and then catch the train back to Thomas world.
Drayon Manor is great…. Why? Main reason is The variety of attractions means everyone will be entertained.
Don’t worry there is food! You can buy food on site there is a Fish shop, Pizza/pasta restaurant and others
But if you wanted you can bring along a picnic and some food, There is plenty of places to relax and eat, We when to the Fish shop, 2 large chips, 1 cone of chips, Gravy and bottle coke for around £10, We was pretty happy with that and the gravy was pretty special!
We when to the Fish shop and had 2 large chips, 1 cone of chips, Gravy and bottle coke for around £10, We was pretty happy with that and the gravy was pretty special!
The weather for us was fantastic. But Drayton also do the Rainy Day Guarantee if your not lucky https://www.draytonmanor.co.uk/tickets-and-prices/rainy-day-guarantee
Overall, Drayton Manor was the perfect day out, It’s a theme park for Adults and Kids and you even get the Zoo for the Animal lovers
We were given complimentary tickets for the day in exchange for a review. All opinions are honest and genuine and we’ll be sure to visit again in 2018.
